MODULE #3

In this module, one will learn that circuit wiring refers to the method of connecting electrical conductors, devices, and accessories so that electric current can flow safely from the power source to the load (appliance or lamp) and back.

A circuit is a complete path that allows electricity to travel.

For a circuit to work properly, it must have:

  • Power source – supplies electrical energy
  • Conductors (wires/cables) – carry the current
  • Load – device that uses the electrical energy
  • Control device – switch or breaker
  • Protection device – fuse or circuit breaker

If the path is broken, the circuit becomes open, and current cannot flow.
